Delightful bungalow, beautiful garden, great location. 5/5 stars
Stayed Oct 2018 – Willi K., Douglas Flat, CA: “I have stayed at Karin’s Bungalow several times and it is a treasure, always beautifully decorated and maintained. Karin is the perfect host, there to answer questions but never intruding. I love her garden, private and serene. The location is excellent, walking distance to Lithia Park and downtown. Karin, thank you!”
With great directions we located our lovely get away and were greeted by our gracious host. 5/5 stars
Stayed Sep 2018 – Deborah H: “Perfect location for an easy stroll downtown while passing vintage homes and beautiful landscaping complete with a roadside lending library around the corner. Our immaculate home was supplied with all amenities needed and then some. We enjoyed morning reading and relaxing in the lovely flower and vegetable garden. What a treasure! Thank you, Karin.”
Another wonderful stay. 5/5 stars
Stayed Sep 2018 – Pat, Seattle, WA USA: “Our 3rd stay in 3 yrs. at Karin’s lovely private comfortable Ashland apartment. Karin has thought of everything to make this small apartment as easy and comfortable as possible. The weather cooperated this year (not too warm or cool) to allow us to enjoy the backyard garden in the morning and afternoon. An easy 15-20 min walk to OSF. Enjoyed walking to the Lithia Park Reservoir and dining at Liquid Assets, Amuse & Coquino.”
Well appointed, charming, super convenient to downtown Ashland. Karin was a fantastic host! 5/5 stars
Stayed Sep 2018 – Tara J: “Chose Stone’s Throw for its proximity to The United Bicycle Institute and quaint accommodations. The bungalow was perfect for 2 people! The secret garden courtyard and fruit trees were a bonus! Affordable, clean and convenient. Would absolutely recommend a stay here!!!”
Lovely cottage with special touches.5/5 stars
Stayed Sep 2018 – Gail H: “Karin’s cottage is quite special. While it is small, it is well designed and full of thoughtful touches: attractive decorating items; good dishes; creative storage; quality linens; interesting books; helpful publications and maps; comfortable furniture and a good bed; nice toiletries (I was surprised and happy to find a new toothbrush available as I had forgotten mine). AND the garden is lovely; we thoroughly enjoyed it every morning and at other times throughout our stay. Coming back to the cottage after an outing, or after an evening play at OSF always felt good. We did not meet Karin as she was away during our stay (she had let us know that this would be the case); but she made sure we were well taken care of by setting up everything we might need. We met a lovely neighbor, the local kitty cat, parked in the driveway, drank the wine she left us, and sat in all the chairs in the garden.
We have been to Ashland and the OSF several times, and when we return, I hope Karin’s place will be available as I would stay there again.”
Beautiful, clean little home! Everything provided for comfort able rest and relaxation. 5/5 stars
Stayed Jul 2018 – Patricia P.: “Very close to town, restaurants, & theaters. Peaceful garden for outdoor dining. Karin is helpful with many suggestions for Ashland & surrounding areas. The perfect location!”
Lovely, Relaxing, Easy. 5/5 stars
Stayed Jul 2018: “If you like a quiet spot to get away, that is in a lovely garden setting, with simple choices to be made–cook and eat, read or meditate, indoors or out, and hosted by the most amiable homeowner, then this is the spot; a refuge in Ashland, with OSF a healthy neighborhood walks away.”
Gracious hospitality.5/5 stars
Stayed Jun 2018 – Jeff B: “The many reviews on this little apartment tell the truth. It was a pleasure to stay here, especially since Karin, the owner, is gracious and friendly–without being intrusive at all. I spent many, many hours out in the garden reading a great stack of books. And it is only about half a mile to the theaters (the main reason I go to Ashland each year). Handy Hint: If you catch High Street (just about 3 houses away) and take it to the end, you land right in town on the edge of Ashland Creek and Lithia Park without ever having to walk along main street and all that traffic.”
Lovely quiet stay.5/5 stars
Stayed Jun 2018 – Marilyn S: “Bungalow consists of bedroom, bathroom and kitchen, very nicely and efficiently outfitted. The icing on the cake is definitely the lovely private fragrant garden with ample space for breakfast or a glass of wine. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to OSF and you can walk on High street, avoiding main road and traffic. We would be happy to stay here again.”
Lovely retreat. 5/5 stars
Stayed Jun 2018 – Sue K: “Our hostess greeted us warmly, showed us where to find items in the bungalow, had suggestions for activities/restaurants, etc. The bungalow is beautiful with great attention to detail, tastefully decorated and very clean. I didn’t want to leave….”
